After-School Art Classes With Julie Heilman

Julie’s classes are great way for your kids to wind down (or up) after school. Julie provides her students with a safe place to relax, create, and enjoy exploring a variety of media (Watercolor, Acrylics, Clay, Color Pencils, Pastels) with gentle instruction by a caring teacher.

Julie began her studies at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed her degree in Illustration at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA. She continues to explore her personal art journey in Pacific Grove while sharing her love of art with young folks.

Snacks are provided, as are all art materials. Class size is limited to ten.

Tuesday for Teens Art Focus Classes for ages 13-18 -- 3:30-5:30 p.m.

  • Classes begin January 10th through May 30th 2017
  • Eight-week sessions $180.00 members/ $200.00 non-members
  • Minimum class is 4; maximum of 8

 Level: Intermediate to advanced (motivated beginning students will be considered!)

Classes are for art students who want to take their art skills in drawing and painting, color and design to the next level. Media: Graphite, Charcoal, Acrylics, Watercolor, Ink, Colored Pencil. Portfolio development and individualized instruction, and support for each student’s creative expression in art.


Thursday Youth Art Focus Classes for ages 9-13-- 3:30-5:30 p.m.

  • Classes begin January 12th through May 27th 2017
  • Eight-week sessions $180.00 members/ $200.00 non-members
  • Class minimum of 4; maximum of 8
  • Register with PGAC office (831) 375-2208 during regular business hours

This class is focused on drawing and painting techniques, value scale, design and color mixing, using black and white media, Acrylics, Watercolors, Colored Pencils.

This class is geared to intermediate to advanced young artists.

Dante Rondo adult classWednesday Evening Adult Art With Dante Rondo

This adult class will cover fundamentals of drawing, design, color theory, and painting techniques in watercolor, acrylic and oil. It is geared to beginning to intermediate to advanced students, that want to choose their medium and subject matter of choice and have technical and creative feedback. Ages: 18 and up. Students will supply their own materials.

Dante Rondo has been a studio artist and teacher at the Pacific Grove Art Center since 1987. He has taught youth and adult art classes on Monterey Peninsula, Santa Cruz and Hawaii since 1979. His paintings have been featured in galleries locally and in S. California and Hawaii. In private and corporate collections, U.S, Japan, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji Islands.

The Sculptors’ Workshop is the Monterey Peninsula’s only figure sculpting workshop, happening every Monday from 6-9 pm at the Pacific Grove Arts Center.
